Default Trash will not throw out old fade file folder..WHY?

I threw a session in the trash...hit "empty trash" and it threw out everything but the fade file folder. Tried "option-empty trash"...but I still get a dialog box that says the files are in use and can't be trashed. This is when PT's is not on. I have rebuilt the desktop and done the P-Ram flush with no luck.

Would love some help in getting this solved.

Thanks

Try rebuilding the desktop, that might do the trick.

They must still be registered with DAE somehow. Try starting up without extensions and option+empty trash.

Or trash your DAE prefs and try it.

I have a couple of empty folders in the trash that it wont delete. I am studiously ignoring them at the moment. The extensions idea is good...must try that.

you should try to rebuild the directory of the audio drive
that the file originally came from, using Disk Warrior if you have it.

Was the file from an external drive that is no longer connected? if so try remounting the drive and then deleting it.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">The drive was connected when I threw out the session but the fade folder still persists to live in the trash no matter what I do. I trashed all the Digi & DAE prefs, rebuilt the desktop and I know DAE is not recognizing it because I have not had it booted when I try to throw the the damn thing out. The fade folder is empty as well which is very weird. Something in the computer is just looking at the folder and thinks it's being used. WTF???

I'll try the "starting up without extensions and option+empty trash" idea and see if that works.

Thanks for all the input everybody.

What happens if you try to move these folder/files back onto the desk top?

What happens when you hold down the apple or option key as you epmty the trash?
