Default Session crashing at quit

There's this one session I'm working on that seems to crash Pro Tools 7.3 after I close the session and then quit PT. Not happenning on otheres...just this one...and I can't figure out why. Right now the session is in the middle of post-pro and currently uses only Digi compressors and D-verb for plugs. Normally this is caused by an errant plug....I thought it was maybe a VST I had wrapped...but it's not affecting other sessions so I'm baffled. What else could cause this? Not a major issue....more annoying than anything as PT hangs for a bit when I quit out but still would like to fix it.

Might be a corrupted session file. You can create a new empty session and then "import session data" from the old one and see if the new one also crashes.

Hummm, that actually worked! However I noticed that when you do this it only imports active tracks and I made a few instrument tracks inactive and these tracks still have plugs inserted on them so I'm wondering if an inactive track can contribute to this problem if the plug is causing a crash. I'll go back and re-do the import and post back.

I went back and made all the extra instrument, Aux. and midi tracks active and in view so they were all in the new session after I imported the session file data. One question though: when I do this and select "copy from source media" I seem to get about half of the total overall audio files from the original sessions' audio file folder...so does this only import audio that appears on the timeline and not audio that's in the folder but NOT used? Is it important to copy all the audio files at all, should I have selected "Refer to source media(wherever possible?)"?

The manual is a little sketchy. "Related to the imported tracks"....does this mean all the audio files in the session?

From the manual:

Copy from Source Media:
This option copies all
audio files related to the imported tracks from
the source media to a new specified location,
and converts the files to the current session’s audio
file format, bit depth, and sample rate if necessary.
This is useful if you are importing tracks
from a source such as CD or DVDs or shared
storage, and you want to place the audio files on
a different hard drive.

I would imagine that all online media in the regions bin is copied.

It just means that the audio is in both the regions bin and audio files folder.

Gotcha. Ok, well I created a new session again for security purposes and it's the same thing...about half the volume of the original audio files folder but maybe it's not copying the unused Melodyne files that are in there or something. The session plays though and everything seems to be fine with it.

I'm reviving this thread because again I'm having the same issue with a new session. I thought it was a problematic plug but it reminded me of this problem that I had before....I'm trying to figure out why this problem is recurring. Nothings been added lately except the Wayoutware KikAXXE but I took it out of the session and PT still crashes when I quit out of it.

I thought it was just this one session but apparently it's not. It's PT in general giving me a "Pro Tools has quit" error after I quit out of PT 7.3 after an extended hang.
