Pts 12.5 multitool bug

using 12.5 to edit a vocal and got up to take a call (no more then 5 mins). when i returned the selector section on the multitool in the edit window will not appear when i place it over the wave. it shows when i am above it in the timeline bar but as soon as i go over the waveform to make an edit all i can use is the grabber tool and trimmer.. any thoughts???

Does the "phenomenon" disappear after a reboot? Do you have a screensaver enabled?
