Question 2 midis together?

I have AxiomPro 61 and old M-Audio Keystudio 25, with M-powered 8.04 windows 7 (64bit)

Is it possible to play live these 2 MidiKeyboards with separate instruments assigned to them.

Ie I play Piano on my Axiom, and my daughter would play ie quitar sound on her KeyStudio.

I have tried creating profils on "MidiStudio" and chancing send and receive channels, but cant play separate instrument... (Both play same instrument)

Please provide detail instruction, how to get this accomplished, since I am newbie with this.

Yes, you can do it - just make sure that the MIDI input tab of a track is set to a specific controller and input channel (the same MIDI output channel that the controller you want to play that track is set to).

Question Re: 2 midis together?

Thanks for replying, would need little more details, how to accomplish this.

I am using mobilepre usb as my "hardware" and has no midi connections. So both of my Midi keyboards M-Audio keystudio25 and axiompro 61 (With hypercontrol) are connected to my computer vias USB.

I can see them in protools m-powered. Not sure what is all needed to setup, so please feel free to explain in details, since this is really confusing.

1. Is it necessary to setup Midi Studio Setup? (If so why is M-Audio manufacturer missing?)

2. Is it necessary to setup Peripherals? (I did set up this and this is only thing I have done so far) I did select "hypercontrol in and out for my axiom pro 61, and as windows is detecting and my driver update for keystudio 25 it shows up as "USB O2" in and out.

So do I need to setup something else?

Then I added 2 stereo instrument tracks and one Master fader track.
Then I assigned guitar sound to one of the tracks and piano one the other one.

I/O does not give me any option to select AxiomPro or Keystudio, so I am not selecting anything there.

Instrument allows me to select AxiomPro61 Hypercontrol In "All Channells"
Same for other track USB O2 In "All Channells".

This is what I have setup, but it does not play as I want. I have to highlight the instrument, and both keyboards play the same instrument. I want to play piano and I want my daughter to play quitar (MIDI KEYBOARD with quitar sound) same time.

Midi output selector is left for Midi Grand Channel 1 on (USB O2) and Xpand2 1 Channel 1 on (AxiomPro 61).... ???? Is this correct

I bet these channels have something to do with this....

Thanks for your help with this.

Ok Its been 10 days, when I posted followup question since this answer was not completely clear. Maybe its my AxiomPro 61 since it has HyperControl, messing up the Midi? I dunno, see my previous post, and please provide more details, how to accomplish this.
Thanks

You know I've been wondering the same thing, too. I've got an Alesis QS-8 (uses the midi input on the Fast Track Pro), and an Oxygen 61 (USB). I'd like to set up one to record say piano on one track, and the other one to record a synth or something on another. It doesn't matter how I have things set up in that window, they both play the same instrument.

Are you selecting the proper device (controller keyboard) from the MIDI input tab of the Instrument track (or MIDI track that's routed to the track where your VI is instanciated)?

In this image which shows an Instrument track, it's the bar at the top above 'Xpand 1-1' that says 'All'. Click on 'All' and choose the controller keyboard that you want to control that VI.

In Pro Tools Preferences>MIDI you may have to change the Default Thru Instrument to 'None'.

Question Re: 2 midis together?

Have tried it all, and still not working. I went to mix windows and clicked
View-> Mix Windows Views -> Instruments.
(This is not selected by default)

Well it is now showing. And I did select as you suggested.
Selected "Midi Input Selector" to all channels (or channel 1) no difference.

I tried selecting ....Default Thru Instrument to 'None'.... as you recommended it. (But then I have no sound at all. I tried restarting the whole thing and no sound. I had to select it back to Follows firts selected midi track, to hear any sound.

Still both keyboards are playing same instrument....

I made a screenshot what I have, but this board does not let you upload images

Any more help?

Can you post your image using any number of free image hosting services, then put a link to the image in your reply?

Use Photobucket or something like that for images.
