Windows 7-64 and MIDI problems
Since upgrading to Windows 7/64 and PT8.04, my MIDI isn't working. I have a Roland FantomX, and 2 Behringer BCF-2000s. Neither connecting these through USB, nor through my 2496's MIDI ports yields MIDI response. They all transmit to PT just fine... it's just PT won't transmit back. Help?

Re: Windows 7-64 and MIDI problems
If you look at "Devices and Printers" do the BCF's show up? Windows 7 should load the drivers automatically for those when hooked up via USB
When Launching Pro Tools. Right Click the PT icon, and choose Run As Administrator. Do this everytime. And I assume you setup the controllers in Pro Tools right?

* SMACKS FOREHEAD WITH PALM
Thank you. Wow, THAT'S embarrassing! Everything came back to life. This REALLY isn't going to make our IT guys happy... but hey, it works! Just for the record though, it's not a Digi problem... it's a W7/64 problem. The same issue (having to run as admin) for any midi communication. Thanks again!!! |

Re: Windows 7-64 and MIDI problems
well you can setup the PT icon to default to Run as Admin without having to right click every time.
heres a video i made a while ago. On Vista or Windows 7 its very important to always run as admin. Run As Admin by Default

Re: Windows 7-64 and MIDI problems
Thank you VERY much. Yeah, I skipped Vista in the hopes of stability, and now I'm a bit lost. Again, thanks!

Re: Windows 7-64 and MIDI problems
Hey Benoni,
I found this somewhat recent post while searching the DUC and thought I'd quickly ask your advice as I am having the same problem w/ virtually the same system. My Radium 49 will successfully get midi to the 003r interface; I can see this by the indicator lights but it will not output to any sw instrument? The 003 is showing up in Devices and Printers and I am running as admin. I am on Win 7 64 bit . Thanks for any help |
