Default ProTools CRITICALLY LOW on MEMORY???

Hope someone can help!

When trying to save some sessions, it tells me that pro tools is critically low on memory. I have 512mb of RAM and a 466mhz processor on a G4.

Why the hell is it doing this? How can I fix it?

And last, I thought that buying more memory or an external hard drive(for session storage and backup) could solve the problem -- (I've saved every session that I've ever done directly to my MAC's hard drive). But does the 512 MB of ram I already have take up the two memory slots on my computer already???

Throw me a freegin bone here! I'm dyin!

Thanks.
- Akira
