Tom, I'm in the crowd that came on board after 7, as my first version of PT was 8. I haven't been able to find a 7.x version. Would Avid have an archive download of this? I know Avid has a million other 'fish to fry' rather than grab a programmer and have them either 'fix' the issue or put a button or slider on the i/f to address this. So, I'm wondering if there may be a way to request they put up a download of the, I guess, 7.4 version of it somewhere for those that would like to use it.

We've asked for a button before to no avail.

You might want to make a folder in your unused plug in folder and copy the v8 Dverb file there. Just in case you want to use it someday. You can uninstall the v8 version and either install the 7.3 version or drag and drop a 7.4 or earlier version into your plugin folder. Last I knew the names of the plugin files are the same for both v8 and earlier versions.

Right, take out the newer one if you use the old one.

Happy Holidays everyone.

Is it possible to report this problem to Avid without Avid Support Code?

They are very aware of it. There were many threads about this from 2008 to the present.

Just go to the link Tom has provided, download the 7.3 version of DVerb, then go to your 'Plugins' folder, drag the 'old one' (ver 8 or above) .dpm into your 'Unused Plugins' folder, and drag the Dverb.dpm from the download into your 'Plugins' folder. Do that while PT is not running. Then start PT and you'll have the version of DVerb with no pitch shift in the Hall and Church algos. I did it...works great! There are instructions on exactly how to do this at the link, and a copy of those instructions in the download.

It should be noted that it was never Avid's intention to ruin the plug. Sometimes during the course of developing PT8 they added what was supposed to be a subtle chorusing effect to the RTAS version that was previously only present in the TDM plug. Their intent was to provide the same experience to both RTAS and HD user. Why the effect is more pronounced in one version of the plug and not the other and variable depending on the sample rate is a mystery. That's the back story as I remember it if anyone's interested.
