Buffer size automatically change

Hello, I have problem using pro tools first with Scarlett 2i4 2ng gen.
Anytime I set the buffer size, the program change it automatically to another.
If I set 512, it turn suddenly to 256, if I set 128 it change to 64.
My preference is 128 and to have it settles to 128 I need to choose 16 on the hardware setting in pro tool first.
I use other daw and no problems....just pro tools first doesn't work properly.

Making some assumptions here as you have given too little information; If you are running a Windows computer, go into Sound Properties and set the Windows Default Playback Device to the on-board sound card and not the 2i4. The problem is often that Windows is competing with Pro Tools for control of the interface settings.
