Multiple USB drives
Hi
I have a Pro Tools HD2 Accel on an HP XW8200HD system running V 7.3. The set up has 2 external SCSI drives (Y & Z) and 2 USB drives (E & F) Both the USB drives are visible in Windows explorer and audio files and sessions can be succesfully loaded into Pro Tools from them. When using the Workspace window, however, although both USB drives are shown they are BOTH shown with the same drive letter and with the same contents (ie the E drive is shown twice if E & F are both plugged in when Pro Tools starts, or the F drive is shown twice if the system is started with E unplugged and that drive is subsequently plugged in) Any thoughts? Best wishes Hugh |

Re: Multiple USB drives
Hi,
Try using System management in control panel. If you get down to local drive management you can re assign a new letter to the f drive. see how that goes.. Big D

Re: Multiple USB drives
Thanks very much bidD. I did try changing drive letters but no luck with the problem I'm afraid.
If both USB drives are connected then the Workspace browser just sees whichever drive has the lower letter twice, but not the other one. So I now have: C X Y F F but no G although both Windows and ProTools (elsewhere than through workspace) see all the drives fine. Hugh |

Re: Multiple USB drives
Did you try deleting the Volumes Databases?

Re: Multiple USB drives
Hi Kim
I'm a bit nervous about trying that as there are numerous databases under "Volumes" Hugh |

Re: Multiple USB drives
Hi
I went for it in the end and deleted all the Databases. No good I'm afraid ProTools Workspace still see's the lower lettered USB drive twice and not the other one (Windows still see's them both fine) It's been suggested re-formatting the USB drives might help. Once again any suggestions welcome. best Wishes HUGH |
