I struggled with it for 3 months and finally gave up and returned the software and the 3rd faulty screen(Acer that was recommended by DT). Here's my 2 cents:
#1-When the screen worked, things were cool enough, but once I got over the "gee whiz" part, I just didn't dig it. I have since had my MIX window on a 27" screen in the same position as with the touchscreen, but its a regular screen(showing whatever I want) and I run a larger(43") LED TV mounted just above the 27" but further away
#2-as with the Slate, you are limited in exactly what you can display for your MIX window(cannot use "Narrow" tracks. Can only address sends A thru E. Can't leave Instruments showing). But do check with DT as my experience is from 2-3 years ago.
#3-for me, the coolest bit was the Macros(Slate has Batch Commander that is the same), but right when I was giving up and returning the software, DT decided to stop offering the Macro(Dtools) as a separate item(which I would have loved to have kept using).
#4-since Slate now has a $999 setup(it was $2499 when I was trying DT), the Slate is probably a safer bet(although DT's tech support was first rate)
