I can't record more than 16 audio tracks?

I can easily record 16 audio tracks with my Motif 6, but when I try to record anything more than 16, PT says that I have too many tracks and that one or more audio tracks/instruments won't be able to play.


How is this possible since PT is supposed to have 24 audio tracks?

if you are recording MIDI, it allows you to record only 16 channels at time, this is the standard for midi channels.

if you have 7.4 or below you can only have 32 voices, thats 32 mono or 16 stereo tracks.
With PT 8 you get 48 tracks, any combination of mono or stereo totaling 48.

Toolkits expand this further to 64 or 128.

You have 16 stereo tracks? Thats 32 voices... You may be at the LE's track limit.

The "Music Production Toolkit". That'll get ya 48 Mono or Stereo tracks.

Music Production Tool Kit....can this be found under download section for PT LE Windows XP? The reason I'm asking is because I'm at work and our internet is taking forever and tried to look but had to shut down my PC twice already.

Yes, go to digidesign.com and you can purchase it through the digi store. You'll need an ILok for the authorization also.
