There's no reason why the price should change... and OS compatibility updates are ALWAYS free.

Just fix the current bugs list! 9.0.3 was late May. We need bug fixes before Lion compatibility.

Yeah, true, that sounds about right...

But, what if they go straight to version 9.1 because of having to change a lot of the code ? (this is pure speculation - and probably stupid/crazy since some people have been saying that the beta of 9.0.5 is working on Lion)

Well it really depends on how far speculation goes... but as I said, an OS compatibility update will ALWAYS be free. Just as 7.4.2 came before PT8, and 8.0.3 came before PT9.

Really, things haven't changed that much in Lion that they'd be breaking so much backwards compatibility. Ableton, Sibelius, MachFive 2, LX480, etc, all working fine for me.

(Disclaimer: I did work on Lion but not on the audio code.)

I never said I saw surprised. However, Apple's beta distribution program is light-years ahead of where it was 10 years ago. Progress man... progress.

A few months? Ha! Try more than half the year when the Snow Leopard came out. That to me wasn't right. I know they release things that work properly but that waiting game was a bit much.

Then again, we aren't at the end of engineering, building and refining the software so really, we have no idea what was going on.

It's just a game of patience, if anything. I'd like to move to the new operating system but at this point, if it ain't broke, don't fix.

Yep. I'm never one to jump into something new, just because it is new and shiny. Unless of course it is a Ferrari with a hot blond in it.

AVID is a different company it seems since then.

Since the name Digidesign became AVID. I fill things have slowly been on the up swing.

And the past six months have been a blast!
