Default Bounce to .wav / cd goes bad

After many years of smooth operation the .wav I burnt on an audio cd can't be played on any audio device, except on my iMac.

It is a standard audio cd, and bouncing as always .wav.

But now the cd identifies as 'Nameless', while before this problem it identified as 'audio'.

Thanks for your help.

Make sure you are not bouncing to a a 24-bit wav file. CD players can only play 16-bit wav files, whereas your computer can.

As well as that make sure you're burning a Redbook CD as most CD players won't play 'naked' .wav files. What program are you using to burn your cd's?

Thanks for the help.
I usually burn cd's with iTunes. Which worked fine 'till now.

You are letting iTunes finalize the cd right?

I guess so. I just burn it and follow the iTunes instructions.

(Sorry for reacting so late: my studio is in another town and I can't use internet there)

Did you get a chance to check if you are bouncing to 16 bit wav (interleaved) instead of 24 bit wav?

Yes, 16 bit and interleaved. And when I bounce to mp3 it is perfect. But the client wants it on an audio cd.

You can't guess; you have to verify that it is finalizing the cd; then again I've never used iTunes to burn cd's.

The 'finalizing' must be the problem then. Should I look for another burning program? Before iTunes I used Nero. That was less easy to use, I recall, but it did the job.
