Default Reverb Plugins!

Hey everybody! I'm a relatively new PT user, and I have a question. When I'm working on mixing Drums, I often want to put a reverb onto my main OH L and R. What's bugging me is that I seem to have to either A) use a drum submix and put the verb onto that (which I find annoying, as I like seperate verbs for snare and overheads, not to mention the kick) or B) Copy and paste settings from one to the other as I adjust the verbs. This is annoying and time consuming, not to mention it's a pain. Is there a way to group the two tracks so that when I use D-Verb or waves that when I change one setting it changes the other track as well? I did read the manual, and I couldn't quite figure it out. Sorry for the newbie question, but I need help!

Thanks

I don't know any way to have one follow the other but

A ) you can send to a stereo aux with a stereo verb

B ) save your settings on the plugin and recall on the other plug

Are you using mono tracks for your overheads? If so, just put them on a stereo track instead, then you only need one reverb for the stereo track.

The usual route however is to bus your tracks to a reverb aux track so you can control your reverb levels w/o opening the plug-in. As the previous poster mentioned, create a stereo aux track and put your verb on it, then bus your OH tracks to the reverb bus and mix to taste.

I am using stereo overheads. How can I combine two mono tracks into one stereo track? Is there a combine tracks function? I have tried the reverb return to two spare channels thing, but I've never liked it, either on protools or on my analog board.

just record them as one stereo audio track instead of two mono audio tracks.

In the file menu there is a combine and separate stereo tracks functions..

thanks! That will work, as I use a Analog board and a Mackie HDR for tracking. Pro tools is just for fun and/or final mixing.

actually, that won't work. My protools does not have a combine command. There is a "split stereo tracks", but no combine. I am on PT 5, is it a PT 6 thing?

No, whoever said there was a "combine mono tracks into stereo" command was mistaken, but THERE SHOULD BE ONE! That would be a great feature. Create a Stereo Audio track and grab the audio from the 2 mono tracks and drag in into the stereo track. You drag audio like caveman. Primitive but works. Some say stereo track not pan as wide as two mono. You listen.

one can always use the "brute force" method to achieve anything.

in this case, make a stereo audio track and set inputs to a stereo buss, say 1-2, and then output those two mono channels to that buss panning the other hard left and the other hard right. then just re-record the track and be done with it.

however it should be simpler in protools. digi, have we missed something?
