I gave it some thought. Comparing D-Command main unit with S6 M10-5 I think that if the top 32 knobs could be mapped as dedicated EQ and DYN sections, that would be already much more than dedicated sections on D-Command (18 knobs only) and would be on par with D-Control (33 dedicated knobs for EQ and DYN). And of course there needs to be a Cycle function for switching between consecutive EQ and DYN plugins on a channel. Sometimes I have 3 different EQs and 3 different DYN plugins on one channel. I can access only the first one with Eucon Artist Series.

Do the high-end post guys have to deal with EQ and compression as much as those "doing" music have to?

Probably more so. Sometimes they need to eq on a syllable by syllable basis!!!

Now you got it.

If it mapped intelligently, with the color coding it could be next level compared to ICON.

There is SO much potential with the S6, just need to see it develop more before I commit.

I think there was some mention of expand mode layouts for the next S6 software update? This was a suggestion I made a while ago, that we need to be able to customise the parameter layouts for particular plugins in expand mode and save them.

There is this nice presentation of custom plugin mapping:

That was Digidesign and you're now dealing with Euphonix.

I've got one more question related to speed. How Snaphots are stored? Hold down a snapshot button like Icon or press save then press snapshot like on artist series? I think holding a button is quicker.

Sadly, I'm not sure there is any hope for this feature....it states in the ProTools 11 manual that "When a supported control surface is declared in Pro Tools, Plug-In Map controls appear in the plug-in window"

After setting up the S6, I can see that the map controls have completely vanished from all plugin windows, so clearly custom plugin parameter mapping is NOT supported with this console. Why on earth would they not support such an important feature like this!?

Unless the S6 can somehow do it's own internal custom mapping, I think we are SOL.

We are so early in the S6 development cycle. We are going to get everything the icon had and more! Wait and see.

Yes, many things not supported, yet. But the S6 has the potential to really become what we want and need. Obviously everyone want all the nice features (me too) but we need a bit more patience.
