Default A question about voices.

O.k. so I have too many voices, I know this, its sucks but Its what I have to work with (lots of stereo files). However at any given time probobly no more than 4 stereo tracks are playing back. So my question is; When PT alerts you to the fact that it won't play back one of more tracks, is it just warning you in case all tracks are playing back at the same time that its going to rob you, or will it not play back the track with least priority regardless of what is actually playing? Does that make sense? I am editing a video program and I have all my files split up and spread across tracks. The later in the program, the farther down the line (priority) in tracks are getting used. So when say track 12 is playing its audio, tracks 3 through 11 have no audio in their tracks, am I still going to lose a track? Hope this is not too cryptic, but untill I can get the video editor to send me mono files I will have to deal with this.

Thanks guys.

In LE, the answer is yes. In an HD/TDM setup, the answer is not necessarily (even on an older 32 voice tdm setup). Automatic voice stealing is a feature in the tdm systems, but not in LE.

Yeah, I just answered my own question. Did a bounce and sure enough my music bed (last audio track) was robbed from me. None the less, I found a work around, comp'd some tracks and bingo, music track back online. Thanks for the help.
