PT9 stops when insert plugins

Wonder if it's "normal" that PT stops when insert a plugin? Get some error number and it tells me I ran out of cpu. 1 track and 1 plugin. It can be an EQ 3 or Waves plugin, same thing.
Updated from 8 to 9 and bought Logic at the same time a while back. Been on Logic since and can't remember I had this problem in 8.
Runs a 002 rack or onboard audio, same thing.
I know 9.0 is'nt tested and approved with SL 10.6.7-8 but want to hear if somebody else have had this problem and found a solution.

OSX 10.6.8
PT 9.0

No problem with it here, running 9.0.3 on 10.6.8, Mac Pro Quad-core Xeon. In fact, unlike with my Windows machine, the audio doesn't even hiccup when inserting. Maybe the MBP is not quite up to the task.

Ok, I see you have the 002r too. Experienced any "lost of communication" sometimes? It seems buffer related. If I start a session at 32 samples I get this error. But PT always get connection again in some seconds. I'm about to get PT10 but I feel I need to solve this first.

The "1394" lamp goes of for a moment when I insert a plugin...so It seem to loose connection for some reason. I saw a thread where a guy cleaned up the harness connections within the 002r. I might just do that and see if it helps. It has some years on it's neck the good ol' rack

I keep my harnesses clean and solid but it does still lose connection sometimes. It's much more problematic under v9 than it was under v6 & 7. I blame it on the drivers.

Ok, thank's , good to know. My 002r will even loose connection if somebody turn the lights on upstairs. I'll give it a try with cleaning and see what get's out of it. Maybe the fw400 to fw800 thing makes it more sensitive. The thing is that it runs perfect with Logic 9.

That parallels my experience on both Mac and Windows. The 002R works great - except with PT! Crummy drivers.

Installed PTLE 8.0.5 again...works without a hiccup.
I have 2 systems on my MBP so I will try a reinstall of 9 on the other system just to make sure I made everything right...
