Default Moving MIDI notes: how vertically constrain movement?

When moving MIDI notes up and down, how do you vertically constrain movement? I've tried CMD-Click/drag, but this seems to not apply to MIDI.

I recall Logic having some way of doing this.

Try relative grid mode!

Or only ctrl+drag?

I'm in grid mode already, for both tracking and MIDI.

I've tried CTRL-Drag, CMD-Drag, along with various other combinations, but I can't figure it out.

Shift drag. Whatever direction you drag first(horizontal or vertical) the other will be locked.

Hmmm. Why is it shift with Midi but ctrl with audio?

Thanks. It is SHIFT-drag, but the trick is that you apparently have to hold SHIFT before clicking the mouse. I was clicking and then holding SHIFT.

So, it's

1. Click and hold SHIFT
2. Click the pointer on the note
3. Drag it. It should be constrained to only vertical or horizontal movement.

I just wanted to update this thread, in case anyone else had the same question.
