Re: Pro Tools 6.4 crashes dont upgrade
for all software you should never upgrade the moment something is released...always wait and see if others have problems...heck, printer drivers can sometimes really screw up a computer, and also, I'm NOT saying that 6.4 and 10.3.3 are necessarily fine together (they very well could maybe be) but you COULD have other software conflicts going on that you don't know about as I think MANY people have and just don't realize.
stay away from norton, take care

Re: Pro Tools 6.4 crashes dont upgrade
Yeah I was thinking about doing an upgrade myself, but I'm still in Jaguar. I think I might wait a little while to see where it goes to update to Panther and then same goes for PT 6.4 I think I might wait that one out as well, as tempting as it is to update when there is juicy new software out there....yumm

Re: Pro Tools 6.4 crashes dont upgrade
i think that apple unfortunately has really made it hard in the last year with all the upgrades. 10.2 to 10.3 to 10.3.1 to 10.3.2 to 10.3.3 each with their own things. of course people demand faster programs.
in a sense i think that a possible solution would be if digidesign made support for a system that could use an external drive instead of the system drive. that way you could upgrade the os on the system drive and then leave the external drive aloone once it is stable. this way it would be faster to diagnose problems without having to go through all of this uninstall business. nito gan |
