Default Missing AAX Plugin

Alright I really hope someone here can help me because AVID is refusing to help me and keep passing this issue off to the community forum.

Long and short - you can only access Plug-In "rentals" via the marketplace within the pro tools first software. The marketplace is in no-way analogous to the web based one and the carts do not reflect eachother.

I had a previous issue on another account where in that marketplace - you CANNOT remove anything from the cart!! What!? ( The second image I added addresses that, if anyone has any insight) No one from customer service took on my issue and I had to make a damn new account just to access this rental and purchase a single license for it.

So I do it, buy the Eleven 7-day rental with the new account in pro tools and start using the lisence with no issue. I do my thing and record a double take and eventually take a break. I open up pro tools again and this "Missing AAX Plugin' error pops up.

Eleven is very much in the plug ins folder. I have reinstalled pro tools twice, I have reinstalled Eleven a few times, I have tried every combination of iLok activation and I've also had no luck activating it when the software launches...

The final note would be that after I purchased the plug-in via the software-based marketplace, it prompted me to install the plugin from within pro tools itself and it sent it to the task manager and I saw it install from there. If nothing else, this is making me think rentals are an intentionally buggy feature designed to eat up money from people who can't reach out to paid support channels.

Not sure where to go from here except find a new DAW. I can't do what I need to do without this simple thing. I don't feel like avid has a lot of faith in their own product if they pass off glaring issues like this to a forum straight from 2003.

tldr; My Eleven 7 day Rental stopped working with a Missing AAX Plugin Error. Other issue is that there is no way to empty my marketplace cart within Pro Tools First's Marketplace. Both are serious, serious issues that I shouldn't be wasting my first 5 hours on this program with.

Check the following location and see if you find the eleven plug-in:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins

I don't remember the exact name, but look for something like Eleven.aax

If the file is not there, then something went wrong with the plug-in install.

If the file is there, then try trashing your preferences by doing the following:

Go to C:Users > *Your User Name* > AppData > Roaming > Avid and delete the Pro Tools folder. Then, restart your computer.

First, a stupidly confusing "Plugin does not exist in the plugin folder" or similar error on startup does not necessarily mean the plugin is not in the plugin folder, this happens on license fails as well. This is a mind numbingly sloppy error message to have in the product.

I suspect, but do not know, that problem is you created a new account and purchased from that, I suspect the licensing is not permissive as that and Pro Tools First is looking for licenses belonging to the user that installed Pro Tools first.

The marketplace needs a lot of work, the obvious removing stuff from a cart should be there, shared carts with the web, etc. all obviously issues. And it has lots of other unpolished edges.

I've pinged Avid folks on this since other users can't really help with store issues. It makes no sense for Avid staff to point you at DUC at least not for store related issues.

Stepping back from the immediate problem. Eleven Mk II is a *great* amp sim. But I would not be looking at the Eleven Mk II plugin rental. Pro Tools complete Plug In Bundle is a better way to go. It includes Eleven Mk II and a whole lot more or $50/year. Or $5/month. Yes it's cheaper than short term Eleven rental by itself and is a the whole lot more. Another thing wrong with the marketplace. There is an claim often made that you have to purchase plugins though the marketplace to work with First. I normally don't use First, but in tests the Complete PlugIn bundle works for me with First, I'm licensing it with an annual rental using a license on a physical iLok. I hope it would work equally as well with a cloud license (but I've not tested that).
