I run PT LE 8.0.5 on Mountain Lion no problems.
I do only use it for the 11r interface as my DAW is Logic Pro, but it does all work fine - just in case I ever did want to run PT. You are correct in that PT 8 LE is not supported by Apple and therefore will not install without you first going into system preferences/security & privacy and tick 'allow applications downloaded from: anywhere. Once it is installed and running you can go back and tick 'mac app store and identified developers' to return to your original level of security. PT will then continue to run fine. If you only want PT to edit and control 11r, consider opening up an 11r project, then closing the session (not the programme) having first made sure that you have the 11r edit window open. This way you may continue to use another DAW, edit and control 11r and PT running at minimum in the background only using a few % of your CPU. Hope this helps. |
