Default Protools 11 Bug and Melodyne AAX

I was just sent this email from Celemony regarding the upcoming Melodyne AAX release for PT 11.

Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to support Pro Tools 11 with AAX from day one of its release, as had previously been announced. There is still a bug in Pro Tools Version 11.0.0 that prevents Melodyne playing back audio at 96 or 192 kHz. Sadly, the problem this poses from our point of view is insurmountable.

Avid is aware of the bug, which it expects to fix in an upcoming service release of Pro Tools 11. As soon as this is done and we’ve tested everything thoroughly one last time, we will release online the Melodyne updates with AAX support.

Ed Gray, Director of Avid’s Partnering Program, has issued the following statement: "We are aware of the issues and have a good sense of how to address them and it is absolutely our intention to deliver fixes in the soonest occurring release vehicle practically possible. Avid wants to get Melodyne working flawlessly on Pro Tools 11 as soon as possible."

Sadly, therefore, you cannot use Melodyne yet in Pro Tools 11. But you can continue to use it, of course, in Pro Tools 10, the license for which is retained on an update to 11.

We will inform you through the same channels as soon as the situation changes.
Thank you for your understanding.

Kindest regards,
all at Celemony

Yup sadly, this is also on the celemony website. There is a work around though. Clunky and I haven't tried at 96 but here goes.

1) bounce the track you wish to pitch adjust
2) create a new track
3) add the Celemony plug in AS AN INSTRUMENT. You'll get rewire and Celemony up-make sure the rewire I/o and the Celemony are the same
4) set the track to no input source
5) create another new track and create a send to this new tracks input from the track with Celemony on it.
6) load the file you created in step 1 in to Celemony and fix pitch as required.
7) record Celemony playing back on the track created in step 5).

Phew!

I'm not sure it needs to be that convoluted but I couldn't get it to work any other way. If you need it, it's a way round.

Hope that helps.
