Can't disable encryption to make Pro Tools First upload
A search of the knowledge base to get Pro Tools First to upload to the cloud when I exit the software led me to this solution, but I can't do it:
It said that if I was getting error PT-204847 ("There was a problem uploading the project,") then I should right-click the Pro Tools folder and disable encryption. I found my Pro Tools First folder, right-clicked it, and hunted for any option to disable encryption. What I found was a check box called Encrypt Contents to Secure Data. It was in the Properties folder under the General tab. But the check box was already unchecked! So I still cannot upload when I exit out of my Pro Tools First, sadly. I did check the activation and it has gone through. Not sure what to do next, other than export each track to some location on the computer every time I want to exit out of Pro Tools First. Is there another way of saving my work? Is there something I haven't done to get a project to upload? Here is my computer system info: I have an ASUS notebook with a Windows 10 Home system, the operating system is 64-bit with 16 GB of RAM and an Intel Core i7 processor at 2.70 and 2.90 GHz. It is supposed to be compatible according to the Avid website. Befuddled, -- Tahini |

Re: Can't disable encryption to make Pro Tools First upload
Try running Pro Tools as Administrator(see http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=300050 for instructions)and turn of Virus protection and firewalls ,PT doesn't like these.
