Online Collaboration?
I am a bass player and home Pro Tools user. Since I am not in a playing situation I mostly record cover songs with a singer friend. I do a great job with the drum machine and bass tracks though I am not a good guitar player at all.
Does anyone know of any online collaboration sites? Or of a rock guitar player who may be interested in online collaboration? If so, please post here or send me a private message. Thanks in advance! |

Re: Online Collaboration?
AFAIK there are several.
I know Indabamusic.com For me it is a little "overflashed", and not very transparent. It looks like our online-world makes true commitment even harder. The best thing is, if you already know some people, the internet provides many ways of online collaboration.

Re: Online Collaboration?
Hey :)
You might be interested in Dropbox. As far as a tool for collaboration, I'm not sure of any all-in-one, files transfer, video chat options, but you could easily combine those with instant messenger and Dropbox. As for the guitarist, I might be interested in that. I play some rock and dabble in Jazz and funk. I mostly do rhythm and comping but can occasionally play lead. I can pull off most things in the studio given ample time. I usually play through pod farm/eleven/amplitube when I'm in my dorm, but at home I have a pretty nice setup for a natural sounding recording. I would have PM'd you but this forum doesn't have that option. drop me a line: fenderrocker -at- comcast -dot- net ...or just click on my username at the top of this post.

Re: Online Collaboration?
A friend of mine mentioned this one: http://www.digitalmusician.net/
But I can't really say anything about it one way or the other. Just puttin' it out there. The flash-based DAW is interesting, but not quite the real deal. Good effort though. |

Re: Online Collaboration?
Drop box kicks ass! You simply drop your session folder in there and BAM, you're done (well, after you give the other person the public link).
