Does the '2004' update bring File explorer improvements ?
Coming from the world os OSX, i've always missed the ability to see the size of a folder in Windows list view (without having to 'get properties')
I read that Microsoft have built in something more like OSX spotlight now with the latest May update. I wondered if anyone who has been brave enough to update their Win10 machine could let me know if file-explorer has therefore had this feature added? p.s I am aware of 'XYPLORER' which I installed on one machine to add this functionality, but there is nothing like having the OS support a feature natively . Cheers

Re: Does the '2004' update bring File explorer improvements ?
I've always just hovered my mouse over a folder and a pop up tells me the size. This doesn't work for either if you?

Quote:
OSX & Linux just show you in the list view, in the space provided. Even my old Atari ST did. The strange thing is, if you drag some folders into your windows trash, then open the trash up, it *does* show you the size of them. Riddle me that Microsoft.

Re: Does the '2004' update bring File explorer improvements ?
I'm not in front of the PC at the moment, but is this not something that can be added by right clicking in the top window bar where things like 'name, date created, file type' already are by default?
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it weren't available. MacOS has a laundry list of little productivity flourishes like this that Win10 simply doesn't have an answer for. You just sorta learn to live without 'em, I guess.

Re: Does the '2004' update bring File explorer improvements ?
I can confirm it is not something that has been added - I'm running preview builds on my PC (I'm ok if something breaks for a bit).
To be honest, I never really noticed that it didnt show the folder size. Now I can't unsee it! You'd think it would be easy enough of a "feature" to add. Joel
