For me the worst GUI lag to date... (metering way behind, even with just one instance of Boom)

I know a few people have had graphics issues with Yosemite, but this is a first for me... time for Sierra or the Quartz debug perhaps?

It took me quite a while of searching to find this page:

http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...tes&popup=true

It has the compatibility System Requirements for 12.8.2. According to the page on the link above, Yosemite is NOT supported. But the ReadMe that is linked in my Avid account (link is now working, but it wasn't working when 12.8.2. first showed up), is titled "Pro Tools and Pro Tools | HD Software 12.8.2 on Mac OS X 10.10.x, 10.11.x, and 10.12.x". Can anybody from Avid confirm whether 12.8.2 is or is not compatible with Yosemite?

Interesting Scotty... thank you

(Had I been able to read the "Read Me" file, I might have spotted that one, but like you the URL in my account wasn't happening).

Strange though that Yosemite, (a not so distant OS has been abandoned)?!!

another thread shows there seems to be an issue with VCA's - like they don't work in non HD pro tools.

Be careful my friends. Make clones.

The GUI lag in mix window scrolling is AWFUL. I can scroll and it takes take a few seconds to catch up.

Scrolling is actually very smooth on the edit page.

And I booted up in Safe mode after I upgraded from 10.12.5 to 10.12.6 to make sure system caches were purged after the upgrade (read it somewhere on Apple's message boards)....

EDIT: dragging tracks on the edit page is much slower than 12.8.1.

Yosemite support has been removed for 12.8.2, due to graphics issues. El Cap or Sierra are the only supported operating systems.

OK, literally just installed and booted 12.8.2... opened a VERY large session and imported a 4 minute stereo .mp4a file..! it took 3 seconds to convert the file to wav and import, this is a massive improvement in speed!

Well done... so far
