Yes.. Is it possible that the fact that plugins on audio tracks are pre fader, but the plugins on the auxs are post a fader (obviously not post the auxs fader but certainly the audio tracks fader)

Could this be a dither type error?

I'm using hdx3. And I have mix buss with plugs, Master buss with plugs, feeding record 2 track mix track. I notice if I have disk cache set high the system resources are lower. I run a lot of slate, also tons of aax, also Heavy sessions with VI.

I have my disk cache at 20 gigs. In some sessions if I lower cache to 4 gigs or will cause cpu spikes. And errors. At 20 it doesn't do it.

Mac pro 5 1 12 core 3.33 with 128 gigs ram.

Thank your tip man ! We appreciate it (at least I do ^^).

I've tried that before, without any success, I maxed the Disk Cache to the maximum I can. Still spikes everywhere.

Freezing track help a little but even if the Cpu goes from 80 to 70, there are still huge inconsistent spike.

I couldn't agree more. Is that not ridiculous that customer have to work for Avid to find a solution. I can't stand this brand anymore. It's a shame almost all audio engineers are sheeps following the first one who came to lead them.

Not sure what machine you have. But protools 11 and now 12 is very sensitive to graphics cards. You need a good one.

Not top of line but low mid tier works. The stock Radeon 5770 from mac pro caused spikes. I upgraded to a better card and I am now golden. No spikes. R9 280x 3 gig.

My system is solid right now. Has been on ptools 10hd accel6. But when I went to hdx 3 and protools 12hd I had serious issues at first.

Thank you for your insight. I'll try to lower the resolution to night to see if that helps.

My buggy system is a Macbook Pro Mid 2015 completely stocj. Retina Screen. No external.monitors. I think the Graphic card inside are not that bad if I am not mistaken.

This is my experience exactly as well....I don’t remember if I was on Mac or PC at the time but a mid tier GPU helps your PT experience- yes it can !!!!

Nvidia GTX950. Choice of resolution makes no difference. Driver version makes no difference.

YYR123, Your system being the Native version of HD (if I am reading your sig correctly), I'd be very interested in what results you get from the test session.

Ok I will check it out....

I didn’t realize the previous poster had a MBP....obviously you can change the GPU in that case.

Did they ever fix the issue with Pitch ll?

Wasn’t there instructions to remove that plugin from your folder?

It used to crash PT, did it ever get fixed?
