Default 3rd Generation Intel i7 processor?

Will PT LE v8.0.5 (digi003) work with a 3rd generation Intel i7 processor?

Has anyone been able to accomplish this?

All input is appreciated.....thanks in advance

Default Re: 3rd Generation Intel i7 processor?

It's not really going to come down to just the processor. If you've spent any time in these forums, you know a full SANDRA report is always required to make any real judgement on a build. It's really more of the chipset as a whole to be worried about.

Either way, this so-called "3rd generation" still uses exactly the same architecture as the last generation. Still fits in a 1155 mobo, has the same clock speeds, FSB speed, cache, etc... The only real difference is the power requirements, and the on-board GPU, which doesn't matter at all for Pro Tools since it requires a dedicated GPU. Hell, a brand new 3770K only costs $10 more than a 2700K.
