Default Running PT 8 thru Mackie VLZ 16 channel mixer

Help friends. I am running Mbox 2 and am trying to mike all equipment and run through my Mackie mixer. Can you advise me how to run this through PA please. I tried going out the mains but then I cannot control the sound. MBox is limited or is there something on the MBox I should be doing. Just trying to mike all my equipment and do some demos of my band all together..

I'm not really clear on what you are trying to do.

Here's the scoop, though;

All audio for Pro Tools LE must pass through a Digidesign hardware device. For the MBox 2, that means a total of 2 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs, and 2 channels of digital S/PDIF.

To record the output of a mixer like the VLZ 16, you would route the stereo outs of the mixer into the two analog inputs of the MBox 2. This will be very limiting, as you will only have a stereo mix of the whole band, and not be able to change the levels after the recording. (If you're just making demos, and don't need to mix after the fact, this might be what you are looking to do).

Most people recording a whole band opt for an interface with more simultaneous inputs, like the 002/002r or 003/003r with 8 analog inputs (4 mic, 4 line) and 10 digital inputs (8 ADAT and 2 S/PDIF), or the 003R+ with 8 mic pres and the same analog options.

Other options might be to swich to MPowered and use one of the M-AUdio interfaces with multiple simultaneous inputs.
