Avid Native and Thunderbolt 2 Dock

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering, does anyone run Avid HD Native via Thunderbolt 2 dock?

For example if I buys this guy

OWC Thunderbolt 2 Dock

then connect it to my iMac (therefore will use one Thunderbolt port on my iMac) and then connect my Avid HD Native to 2nd Thunderbolt port on the Dock, will it work fine? Can it cause any issues. Technically it shouldn't because this dock is just an extension but you never know.

Any info will be appreciated.

I would read the FAQs on their site. I have that dock and certain combos of connectors can cause other connectors to be unavailable.
Like I can't use one Thunderbolt port for a display if using HDMI and weird things like that. So I would do a little research and if you do get it and it does not work, they have a pretty good return policy.

I have the Belkin dock and there has never been problem running hd native off the thunderbolt ports.

That dock only has one TB port after you plug in your computer to the other port. The chain would have to be computer in to the dock, dock into the monitor, monitor into the HD Native. FYI the HD Native is supposed to be the only device in the chain but I've seen and personally run HD Native as the last device in the chain and it worked well.

Sit rep. Got OWC Thunderbolt dock 2 today. Connected to iMac, connected Avid Native HD to 2nd and last Thunderbolt port on the dock, connected my Dell U2717D to HDMI on the dock. 2nd Thunderbolt port on iMac runs my TV. Everything runs ok.
