Default Allenstein Machine and HW buffer size

Does the Allenstein Machine allow consistent recording with HW buffer at 64 samples with PTLE 7.0 and 002R. Currently my laptop will only allow me to record at 256 or 512 as 128 will give me error code 6088 within 3 seconds of playback and 64 won't even begin playback. Thanks in advance.
Michael
