Pro Tools to Pro Tools HD Upgrade Price on Avid's Webstore

The "Pro Tools to Pro Tools HD upgrade" is $2499.00. That's PTHD's full price! So you own Pro Tools, sometimes you've actually owned it for decades, and your only option if you want to upgrade to HD is to pay $2499 (3200 in Canada).

Do you have a source for that pricing? The Pro Tools to Pro Tools HD Upgrade is $1899US on our webstore. (That discount is the price of a Pro Tools 12 Perpetual License.)

The page below is quite unclear:

It says $2499 but at the same time says "save on a perpetual license when you move from Pro Tools 11 or higher". Also the info button does say "Exchange your Pro Tools 11 or 12 perpetual license for a Pro Tools | HD 12 perpetual license for just the software price difference.", yet the page insists that "you will be billed $2499.00 now".

It's quite confusing.

Frankly I'm starting to get really confused myself It's not a US/Can thing either since I see the full price at $2499, which is the US price (In Canada it's $3199), so I'm supposed to look at the US webstore.

HD perpetual license is supposed to be $3199 CAN, so I am indeed looking at the US webstore.

However, in both cases (logged in or not) I see $2499 for the upgrade. I can assume that somehow the upgrade always shows up in canadian dollars but that's very confusing.

Maybe it's a site localization glitch. Jeffro will likely report it to the appropriate people.

Thanks for raising this issue. I'm checking with the store team to find out what's going on since we're seeing different results - screenshots of the store page and cart from my system below.

So the issue seems to be in the location detection for the pages. When you are signed in it shows the correct amount in CAD but some pages show USD when not signed in. Still looking into this, but wanted to at least let you know that the amounts would be correct in the purchase process (after signing in) and that there is indeed a discount when upgrading from PT.

You might try looking up the pricing from a reseller as well to confirm this...
