Well my sessions have been 32 + tracks with tons of plug ins and like I said, no fan noise and it just gets warm. I've also had some really big sessions with lots of plug ins and same thing. Its the 2.7 ghz processoor and it is working great!!

Hmmm, yeah, I should add that mine has a 3.1Ghz processor, turbo to whatever. Fully blown out machine with every optional upgrade. Not trying to brag, but it might make a difference as far as how well it handles PT.

They are nice, modulo the useless touch strip.
I should have wrote that a few weeks ago, but I discovered BetterTouchTool. I now have no more use of an external keyboard with PT. The pity is what Apple make with that Touch Bar (in fact what Apple doesn't make), not the Touch Bar it self.

the 2.7ghz haswell is not going to be much slower than the newkaby lake processors for real world audio.

I have tested this myself with my sister's 2.9ghz current gen macbook pro vs my 2014 model (2015 build) haswell 2.8ghz.. it's literally NO difference..

Sometimes mine will get an extra effect LOL, sometimes hers will. In the real world, besides hers running slightly cooler overall like by a degree or two, even though her CPU is 2 (or3??) generations newer, i think 3 actually, it made no difference in stacking plugins in PT or Logic.

Really, if you have the 2.7ghz quad core, 8 thread haswell, do not bother just yet to upgrade.. the only one that might show a benefit of 10-12% more plugins is the top of the rangfe 3.1ghz if you want to spent that much money.. That will be the only difference.. there will be no difference in what latency you can use or anything like that. Just about 10% more plugins and Vi's.
Is that worth it to you?
