Default muting record armed tracks ?

situation :

* talent singing in Mic 01
* Mic 01 routed to mixer channe1 01 (and put to stereo output for monitors) and then trough Direct out to ProTools on track1.
* Output Protools track 01 to Stereo Rack002 output stereo 01.
* ProTools Stereo 01 to mixer channel 7+8
* I can listen to the tallent thought the monitors.

when Record arm track 1 the output goes directly to the ProTools output stereo so I hear the singer twice (with delay). When I mute channel 7+8(stereo output for PT sessions in mixer) we (talent and I) cannot hear the music so he can't sing.

I need to set this up like this as otherwise, when not routing the mixer' channel 1 to the mixer' output, I get a delay (HW buffers need to be at least 512 on my system) when returning the voice to the mixer' stereo 7+8. - try to picture this in mind, it helps ;o)

What I need is a way to make ProTools mute the armed track so the music goes to the stereo output but not the recorded track. I don't need to hear the recorded tracks as I can hear the talent trought mic 01 and my mixer.
In This situation (which I use for Nuendo where I can disable direct monitoring) I don't have any troubles with latency and the talent hear's himself in perfect sync (can even add some reverb by the mixer, without then need of CPU)

Anyone knows how this can be solved in ProTools 6.9LE?

Thanks

Just hit the mute button on the vocal track within the PT LE mixer.

haha,

found a way.

unlink Record fader with mixer faser (preferences). Now you can lower the fader when in armed track to "0" so no audio will get through. Now you need to remember to unarm the track to be able to listen again to the recorded take ! when unarming the channel the mixerfader becomes active again ! Nice
