2 technical Q\'s
I know a little on this topics but I'm posting real quick and need your input:
1- What exactly are anti-aliasing filters (I have an idea) 2- LE related, What is the "degree of thining" stated on the setup/preference menu in pro tools le.Thanx. [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

Thinning is an extrapolation of the minute edit points you create when writing automation; think of it as smoothing combined with clearing out unnecessary automation data.

Hi. Thinning does exactly what the word implies. If you do a fader automation by hand, PTLE writes a lot of data to disk showign exactly how you moved the fader. You get maybe 100 automation data points. Now maybe you only need a few, so thinning helps get rid of some of the data along the way. That's all. You can also 'thin' by hand. Just select the pencil, and then push the Alt key. You'll see the pencil invert and now you're erasing. You can erace you automation data points this way. Cheers, Mark |
