structure full version patches/database trouble
so i think i'm one of many who can't figure this out. on my mac pro at home (with an HD2 rig), i'm able to use structure, just fine. no problems.
on my mac book pro, nothing loads when i open the plug in. the first patch which always tries to load is the 'sine wave' patch. in red, above the rotary encoders of the plug in, it reads: "Sampler Parts contain no samples, please add them to the Editor". have never seen this before. i know i loaded all of the content. i tried using the "Set_Structure_Content_Location" app. didn't seem to do anything no matter what folder i put it in. it's not clear. what folder does it go in: 1. Air Content>Structure 2. Air Content>Structure>Structure Factory Libraries 3. None of the above/Somewhere else How do you navigate to the content from the plug in? how do you re-create the database from the plug in? none of this seems very clear. i think i've tried to re-create it, but still no presets are appearing and no content is populating(?). if anyone has any tips/suggestions that don't involve re-installed all 5 DVD's or typing on the line prompt, i'd appreciate it. this is driving me nuts. m |

Re: structure full version patches/database trouble
That is the correct directory but where is AIR Content folder located on for system? And did you install to that location via the Plug-In Installer? After setting the Content Location application, did you 'search' for the sample content within Structure Content Settings?
Database Management Menu commands are located in the Structure Database Page. Here is where the database can be erased and rebuilt.

Re: structure full version patches/database trouble
Where ever you set the content location, Structure should scan all subfolders. You will need to create your own favorite shortcuts for the patches to be available in the quickadd menu.
Here's the workaround for getting Structure to repopulate the database. http://duc.avid.com/showpost.php?p=1366078&postcount=5 I tried using the terminal method on a Mac once but was not successful and I never tried to figure out why. Here's a video of a guy who was using the terminal method successfully. It may be that the path to the proper plist file has changed. Or then again, maybe not. Here's my own video on tinkering with the database on Windows. Near the end I show how to add the favorite shortcuts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7Bz19sHWVg And here are posts regarding the database flakiness. http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=263689 http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=268694
