Default dverb tests

reading through the duc forums about high end quadzilla's, core2duo's, etc and their respective 'dverb tests' has been very interesting for me. seeing that some users can get upwards of 150-160 dverb plugins in a session is inspiring! however, i'm curious as to how the dsp required by the dverb compares to that of other plugins, which i more commonly use than dverb. i commonly use tools such as waves ssl channel strips, urs compressors and eqs, nomad factory blue tubes eqs/compressors. i would love to have the ability to have at least 1 eq and 1 compressor on all 32 tracks, along with a few aux tracks for reverbs, delays, and effects. how would the system requirements for this compare to the system requirements of say, 100 dverbs?

hopefully this makes sense!

looking forward to hearing back. thanks in advance!

I just tried a test session for you DJ FADE. 24bit/48k session with a 128 h/w buffer with Waves SSL Channel and Waves REN EQ6 on each of 32 stereo tracks. McDSP AC1 and AC2 on the master along with Waves L1+, Waves SSL Comp and a Waves C4. I also created 4 stereo AUX's. One had Waves IRL FULL, one had Waves RenVerb, one with Dverb and the last with Waves Supertap 6tap. I was at about 45% CPU usage.

The CPU is a C2D E6700 (well an E6600 OCed to 2.67ghz)

Hope that helps

Great to see more of a real world test than the plain ole Dverbs...Good results...I'm getting the Intel E6420 shortly and going to overclock it to 2.8 - 3 Ghz...That puppy should run real nice.

You're welcome DJ. I should also mention that my performance is lower than the norm, I think due to a cheap-o mobo (ASROCK 4Coredual). Others with the same processor seem to be getting around 125 DVERBS, where I only get 100.
