Default Low volume and distortions problem

Hey. I'm new to pro tools. I use a scarlett solo and a MIDI keyboard. The problem is that the virtual instruments (primarily the piano and other keyboards) begin to distort at high volume, as a result, the recording is too quiet. I tried to use the equilizer, but it did not give much improvement. Are there any solutions?

'High volume' and 'quiet' can be very relative. What exact levels are we talking about, and how are you getting those levels? You don't need EQ to give you a good recording level. Are you recording midi or audio? Either way, you should be able to set appropriate levels from the main volume of your VI.

I'm recording midi. Records are obtained approximately 25-30% quieter from "normal" records

It's normal for a production in progress to be much quieter than a finished release. The 'normal' records you are referring to have been mastered, which involves (among other things) cranking up the level to compare favourably with stuff that's been released. Maybe you should read up on recording, mixing and mastering. There are also good video tutorials on Youtube.
