16k delay comp!

Avid channel strip!

But... + card? Pro Tools software + a hardware card for $1000? Crossgrade from PT9 $350 and it INCLUDES hardware?

Someone has their prices wrong, methinks.

I might be wrong, but I do think this is unlikely. When I spoke ot Sheldon Radford at PLASA I particularly asked if they thought that the Venue hardware was possibly looking a little "long in the tooth" in comparison to some of the newer desks with "flashier" LED's, colour schemes, touch screens, etc. His reply to me was that he thought there was still plenty of mileage in the Venue hardware as it is for the foreseeable future.

Now I know that with new developments they can be rather non committal until release, however, he could easily have dodged the bullet rather than make the statement he did to me. Also they were showing a newer version of the Venue software, there was no commitment to that being a pre-production or release version, however, it was showing some of the features commonly requested, such as 32 channel recording via firewire for SC48.

In my general experience, I haven't seen things demonstrated by Avid (or formally Digidesign) that then were later omitted, perhaps your mileage varies?

Exclamation Re: Friday = TDM is over

http://www.cranesong.com/Phoenix_II.html

Phoenix II runs both NATIVE and DSP on Avid's PT 10 AAX format. Phoenix II uses 32 bit floating point math and has a lower noise floor than the original release.

Phoenix II is a ground-up application derived from HEDD technology, and specifically engineered and optimized for Avid's PT 10 architecture.

The release of the Mac version will be around Nov 1, 2011
The price has not changed from Phoenix, however there will be a small upgrade fee if
Phoenix was purchased more than one year ago.

Actually I guess the prices are correct but I think CARD means boxed or something ( versus download... ).

Looks like they're working the kinks out. It states the specs for the old Metric Halo channel strip, but the picture has a new GUI and says "native". But then I click on the picture to enlarge it, and it reverts to the old version.
