10.3 Update - Windows shutdown issue has returned. Update at your own risk.

Just FYI for anyone thinking about upgrading to 10.3...dont. After updating from 10.2 to 10.3 the infamous and most annoying windows 'hanging on shutdown' issue has returned. Downgrading back to 10.2 instantly resolved the issue without changing anything else on my system - proving the 10.3 patch is the culprit. Upgrade at your own risk. Thanks again Avid for doing another fantastic job with QA, you guys need a lot of help.

i am unable to replicate this. All systems shutting down normally windows 7 x64

I cannot duplicate this as well. It must be specific to your hardware. Not saying it isn't a bug just saying it's not universal.

Been running like a champ here. Suspect a bad install. Also better to do it as a fresh install, not as an update.

Shutting down fine here also. Been fine today was mixing for 3 hours no crashes

Funnily enough I have experienced Windows 7 hanging on the "shutting down" screen for the first time with my current laptop since installing 10.3.

It's happened only once, though, not every shutdown.

Whether that was actually related to PT or just a coincidence, I couldn't say.

Update: A uninstall/reinstall seems to have fixed the issue. My mistake was doing an upgrade originally instead of a clean install. Shame on me. Sorry for the false alarm folks.

Thanks for the update. I did a clean install of 10.3, so the shutdown hang I experienced was evidently unrelated to your issue.
