Default Are they asking us to support them?

So. I just went to do a rough mix of a scratch demo and a bunch of bus settings from my last project appear.

Flagship software? Industry standard? Nah.

They want 200+ plus bucks a year from us right?

For a faulty product?

Maybe they are dying and the 200 bucks is to keep them alive while they catch their breath and recalibrate.

?

Are they asking us to support them while they sort things out?

Or am i being too generous?

Sorry. What’s the problem exactly?

I can’t really follow what the issue is that you’re having.

Smoke and mirrors i think. some kind of voodoo magic? bus settings from a previous mix magically appear in his new session? not aware of this exact feature, but sounds like it could be helpful to speed up the flow of mixing.

Seriously! has anyone else seen this? or is it completely unique to the OP?

Created session with previous I/O settings selected?

Imported session data?

Forget about it...

I went off tap a bit.

Started a new session (did not import any settings)

Laid down a couple of guide tracks

Started routing them to do a rough mix to send to someone and all the bus settings, names etc were there from the previous project.

Looked like a bug to me and not an obvious implementation so I asked myself what is going on at Avid... It looked like sloppy coding but i could be wrong. Maybe its a feature.

My question, if there was one is about how they justify charging 200 bucks a year for something that doesnt work right. Are they building to something better or are we just paying for bug squashing?

You did import the previous I/O and bussing settings it you didn’t select something other than “Last Used” when you started the new session. That’s the purpose of the I/O settings option in the new session dialog.
