Upgrading to PT 7 - Academic version questions...
greetings,
i am a student, i currently run PT 6 on an original MBox on 10.3.9 and things have been going well. my optimal system: running 10.4.9, and PT 7, with the ability to import OMFs. i noticed there is a mobile-pre, academic package that comes with mobile pre, PT 7, digitranslator, time code, etc built in. and it only costs $200-250 or so! so i guess my question is: could i import OMF files with protools m-powered [mobile-pre], save them as pt sessions, then open the sessions with my updated pt LE setup? i don't have a lot of money to spend on upgrades and stuff, otherwise i would probably just buy digitranslator and an ilok for my LE system and be done with it. but an extra step every once and awhile seems like it might be worth it, and i would save like $350. any comments on this workflow? cheers |
