Question S/PDIF & Analog Outputs

How do you have both S/PDIF and analog outputs on tracks at the same time?

What exactly are you attempting to do?

Do you mean individual tracks or the entire mix?

Is this for chaining hardware or monitoring or what?

Its for monitoring all of my tracks. Here is my setup:

I have the JBL LSR4328P monitors and I use the S/PDIF connection from the 003 factory, windows xp pro. I use 2 Sony MDR-V600 headphones on analog output 1-2.

I spoke to a rep. from Digidesign about 60 days ago so my 30 day over the phone technical support has expired but he told me that you can select both analog and S/PDIF connections by a keystroke and mouse click but I forget it.

Thanks!!!

You are talking about mirroring the outputs if I am not mistaken.

Look it upp in the manual but I think you hold control and then click on the output and select another output then it puts a + next to the second output.

I have to do it with the hearback system quite often when I want a separate effect bus send to headphones but I have also used it to monitor analog and spdif.

I also have the same monitors you have and they are hooked up both ways. Just make sure when you monitor you don't do both through the JBL's

But look up "Mirroring outputs"

Search around the DUC as I just posted the key command for doing this about a week ago(but I can't remember it and am away from the studio).

Good. Mirroring I use all the time. It is great for mirroring Aux sends and creativel output routing

Yes, mirroring was it. Its in the pdf manual somewhere. Something like holding the Start button while assigning outputs.
