Default Hardware Not Found error FIXED

Well for me at least.. and as I said in another post.. it was dead simple.

For those of you having this issue, just open the device manager and select 'update driver'. Select manual update from your computer, select peripheral type, (sound etc...), and manually install the Digidesign 003 (or whatever you have), driver.

Start PT and enjoy! It's very nice so far.

On the AVID support page there are Pro Tools 9 specific drivers. Use the drop down boxes to navigate to your specific device. Scroll down the page and select and download the Pro Tools 9 drivers that come up for your specific hardware.

Once downloaded, turn off your hardware device. Run the driver installation executable file. It will instruct you to restart your computer. After your computer reboots and arrives at the desktop, power on your hardware device. You will get a bubble that says, "hardware setup was NOT succesful", whatever, ignore it, close it, move on.

Open control panel>system>device manager. You'll see the yellow exclamation mark next to your "uninstalled" hardware device (002r, 003r, etc..). Double click, select "update driver">let me choose>i have a disk. Browse to C:>windows>programsx86>digidesign>drivers>. Select your device.

I strongly recommend a reboot before opening Pro Tools. Could just be a crazy superstition, but, it's what I do on all my installs.
