M-Audio FireWire 410 and Presonus DigiMax

Hi Everyone. I'm an armature at recording, I'm also new to the forums here and have a question.

I just bought a Presonus DigiMax because I want to start recording live drums. I hooked it up and can't get it to work. At one point I was able to see the 8 channels in Pro Tools but when I record enabled was not able to record. Pro Tools didn't hear anything. Now I can't even get the other inputs to show up. Can someone help me to figure this out? What settings I need to correct.

How do you have the DigiMax hooked up to your 410? The 410 can only record 4 inputs at a time (2 analog and 2 through the S/PDIF inputs). If you connected the DigiMax's Optical output to the Optical input on the 410 you probably won't get anything because the Optical input on the 410 is only configured for use as a 2 channels under the S/PDIF protocol. You would need to upgrade to something like the FW1814 to get all 8 Channels of the Digimax to record independently at the same time.

Well I guess that means I can't get it to work unless I upgrade?
