MBOX 2 Mini Static
Dear Digidesign User Conference,
Okay here is my studio setup(so far) Microsoft Windows XP SP2 (soon to convert to G5) Shure KSM 27 connect with LIVEWIRE Elite Quad Microphone Cables Mackie MR8 Reference Monitors also Connected with LIVEWIRE Elite MBOX Mini 2 (USB Factory) Pro Tools 7.4 LE Sony Headphones MDR-7506 Mackie are connected to: Monster Power Pro 2500 Power Conditioner Okay my question is from time to time there is small static burst coming out to the monitors. Sometimes this happens when I start to open a New Track in Pro Tools, specifically New Track using the Condenser Microphone. Everything is okay until I start hearing that annoying static hiss/burst. What I usually do everytime I hear that I would unplug my microphone cable then plug it back in and the static would be gone, but sometimes it would come back once I plug the cable back in. Just lately I been a little lucky not hearing the hiss/burst at the moment. Are there any suggestions towards this matter? Is it a good idea for me to purchase the "Monster Ultimate USB Cable"? I recently read that RFI Filters are good. I'm a little novice towards the RFI Filters, should they be place on any cable? I was thinking of putting these babies on the ends of the monitors and the microphone cable, is this a good idea? Please help!! Thank you all for your efforts!!! Thanks, Acuraboy (aka Richard) |
