Default Word Clock & SPDIF

Aardsync 256x going to an 888 Slave

Aardsync 1x going to a M-Audio Delta 1010lt In another computer Control panel set to Sync to Word Clock

Now My problem is when I want to take the Output from the 1010lt into the 888 Via the SPDIF
all I get is hash!!

Once I set the 1010lt to Sync to SPDIF all is well???

All the analog outputs sound fine synced either way?????

I thought if both devices shared the same Master Clock SPDIF would pass fine

I spoke with M-Audio and they claim that they have a set up with two computers both set to sync to a master word clock
and have no problems sending audio via SPDIF while Clocked to the word input????

Any Word Clock links or info you could pass on would be great!!!!

Thanks for your time and Help!!!!!!!

On the 888 family, the sp/dif sync overrides the superclock- you might set the 888 to digital sync to remedy the situation.

If it works synced to spdif, I'd just use that.

An external clock will not affect the quality of a digital transfer AFAIK.

You can always reclock the 1010 to the aardsync if you want to use the analog outs.

If you want to use both analog and digital on the 1010 simultaneously, i dunno...

I'd still use the spdif sync i think.
