I'm not sure I understand this....

So are you saying the Eleven Rack was working via USB on your other computer? And then the next day it does not work once you plugged it in to your new computer?

Can you try plugging the 11R into another computer and see if it gets noticed?

And you tried different USB ports and USB cables correct?

If you check in Device Manager does it show the Eleven Rack there?

Which driver did you install?

Also Pro Tools 10 is not officially qualified for Windows 8.

Another thing to check with a new computer is try to use USB 2 ports instead of USB 3 if there is a choice on your computer.
Though USB 3 is supposed to be backwards compatible there are a lot of people that couldn't get USB 2 designed devices to work correctly using the USB 3 ports.
Worth a try.
Like Benoni said, try it on a different computer and one without windows 8.

Well I'd discount whatever that person was telling you about this and more since the Eleven Rack is USB and not Firewire.

As for any misinformation about 2 years. The one year warranty should be clear from documentation included with the Eleven Rack and at time of purchase.

So did you go back and test the Eleven Rack again on your old computer? Or any other computer? More details would help, exactly what computer (Sandra report please), what driver version, what exact Eleven Rack version (back panel sticker), what firmware version.

On the new computer does Pro Tools see it/provide an Eleven Rack GUI window even if it does not show up as an interface?. Have you tried doing a memory reset (from front panel Options button). Tried multiple different USB ports, tried a USB2 not USB3 port if possible.

Does the Eleven Rack appear to work perfectly fine stand-alone?

Darryl

So was the Eleven Rack working with the other computer?

How long ago was that?

Did you try a different USB cable?

Hi Brian

Yes the rack worked on the old computer, it was only last week before the old computer started going down hill.

Yes I tried 5 different usb cables.

What exactly does "does not detect the USB" mean? Can you post a screenshot of exactly what shows up under the device manager (e.g. does it see an unrecognized device or just nothing at all?) Do other USB devices appear to work OK from the same ports?

Did you try on the previous working computer?

Did you have the drivers installed on that other computer? Are are following the proper install instructions, installing drivers before connecting the Eleven Rack, you are not trying to let plug and play install drivers for you?

What is common on both the computers you tried? Windows 8.1?

Be careful of the USB connection on the back of the Eleven Rack, I've seen some of those that need the cable to be wiggled/re-seated to work.

If you can't get this to work you might pickup a used Eleven Rack on EBay or similar or a new one is still a good way to get a Pro Tools 11 license.

Hi Darryl

You know when you put a usb Plug in windows makes a noise to let you know its connected, it doesn't do that.

Unfortunately I can't try it on the old computer as I have already got rid of it.

I have followed al the correct procedures in regards to the installation of the drivers and PT.

The old computer was running win 8.

The one I tried it on was running win 7 32 bit
