Default new quad core i5 and Pro Tools

Just looking over a few speed tests the new quad core i5's that are in the newest batch of MBP computers seem to be a bit faster than my quad core i7 (mid 2017) computer.

Anyone have any experiences on these brand new laptops?

The new MBP are 64bit OS. Can’t remember what PT 11 is but you may want to check this before you purchase.

Pro Tools 11 is 64 but, but that is not relevant here. It is basic OS compatibility if looking at a new computer (plan on running 2019.5).

Modern i5 are quite different than very weak i5 of ancient times, and likely quite usable... a higher core count i7 or i9 is obviously better. On the 13” MBP make sure you configure enough SSD and memory.
