Re: Mojave Pro Tools 2019.05 SSD Trim Enable (Y or N?)
I have always used trim, both an iMac and Mac Pro 5.1 , have done so
From my first ssd, no issues. |

Re: Mojave Pro Tools 2019.05 SSD Trim Enable (Y or N?)
I also use Trim Enabler, and it has been turned on for a few years, not because I know that I still need it but because I don't sense any reason via system performance to change it, and have yet to hear otherwise from a convincing party.

Re: Mojave Pro Tools 2019.05 SSD Trim Enable (Y or N?)
FWIW, I did some ‘research’ including with manufacturers when installing a Samsung 860 Evo in my iMac recently (High Sierra + APFS) and enabled trim using the sudo command.

Re: Mojave Pro Tools 2019.05 SSD Trim Enable (Y or N?)
I use Trim Enabler also.
I used to just enable trim in Terminal but I like having the Health metrics to see how various ssd's are lasting/wearing. Probably just a security blanket but there it is. |
